Biology Club Recycling Responsibilities and Goals

Responsibilities:

Dorms

• -Contact the person you are signed up with to set up a meeting time on the scheduled Tuesday (refer to roster for contact information)
• -Consolidate mixed paper, glass, plastic, and aluminum in the stairwell recycling boxes into the main collection bin for pick-up (these are located in the dorms' main entrances)
• -Monitor recycling boxes regularly to check for overflow, contamination, or damage to the boxes
• -Empty bags of glass, plastic and aluminum at Mars Hill Recycling Center

Soda Shop and Computer Lab (Renfro B)

• - If the plastic recycle bin is nearly full, take the full bag to the Biology Club lounge (Wall 201) and store it there
• - Replace the old garbage bag with a new one. Bags can be found in the closet next to the lounge.

Goals:

• - To promote recycling initiative and environmental stewardship among MHC students
  
• - Collect revenue for the Biology Club by selling aluminum cans collected
  
• - Put grocery bags in individual rooms for mixed paper recycling
• - Pass out surveys at the beginning of each year
• - Extend recycling program to other campus buildings
