BIO - The Biology Club
Club description/mission statement
The Biology Club is a professional, academic and service based society
whose purpose is to promote biological and environmental education and awareness
among members and fellow students.

- Meeting minutes
- Recycling - an on-going service effort
- Service Projects - The Biology Club has a variety of service
projects throughout the year that range from river clean-ups, to helping
AIDS victims, and much more. We do these projects to help out the community
and show that we care.
- Laurel River Clean-up (26 Oct 2002) -objective is
to clean up trash along the river and trails.
- Shoes for Africa -we will be collecting old shoes from
various people and donating them to AIDS hospice, which will send them to
Durban, South Africa to people that cannot afford them. The people
in this area are highly infected with the AIDS epidemic and most are
working with very low incomes.
- Tree Planting on Campus (Spring 2003) -members will be planting
a tree somewhere on campus in order to recognize Earth Day.
- Hike up Bailey Mountain with Elementary Children
(Spring 2003) -members/faculty will assist in a hike up Bailey Mountain
and will help to point out or identify certain plants, animals, insects,
and etc. to the children during the hike.
